I return to my ongoing interest in abstraction with the series "Groundwork". In contrast to modernism's self contained formalism, I focus on prosaic, schematic patterns of formal appeal that operate simultaneously as social signifiers. In "Groundworks" compositions based on shoe treads suggest movement/ migrations.
