Power Source: Adoration, Emulation, Transformation Linda Warren Gallery, Chicago, 2011
The installation is a soft hanging corpus composed of deconstructed indigo, burn-out cotton, t-shirts. The shirts have silk-screened images (five different compositions in total) in star-like compositions of the contours of hot female bodies. The t-shirts themselves represent a kind of group conformity.
The resultant constellation is a playful linkage to our once, historical reliance on the night sky to guide our way. Here, the medias current role as conduit of ubiquitous fashion/ celebrity images provides direction to find ourselves by following the stars.
