2015, Looking For You in the Mirror
The "Appearances" paintings simulate the worldly beauty/ power found in ancient Eastern deity figures. Buddhist sculptures of Bodhisattvas, charged with the guiding of souls to perfection, reverberate ironically with the worship and power vested in contemporary Western, female icons.
